Local physician and amputee helps amputees in Ecuador

KITTERY, Maine Susan Murray of Kittery, a mother, a physician and and a lifelong athlete, found her tribe in Ecuador.Murray’s trip to Quito last month with her teenage daughter was focused on making prostheses for three amputees. Coincidentally, two of the patients had stories that resonated with her own experience of losing a leg and then an identity.They were extremely athletic and after amputations they completely lost their selves and their identity, said Murray,
